Aymestrey is the perfect base from which to discover some of England and Wales most stunning hidden gems.

Tourists may flock to The Cotswolds, The Lake District, and The National Parks but that’s probably because they haven’t had the time to research where to discover equally stunning corners of Great Britain where you can enjoy the real beauty and history of the countryside away from the crowds: places where you can immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the landscape.

Even those who are fortunate enough to “discover” the glories of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire or Powys run the risk of gravitating to their County towns and of planning their itinerary based on just one of the Counties.

That’s why Aymestrey Lodges provide the perfect base from which to explore an area known as The Welsh Marches – a term that dates back to The Domesday Book of 1086.

Aymestrey is tucked away in the very north of Herefordshire – just nine miles from Shropshire, nine miles from Wales and twelve miles from Worcestershire – providing the perfect base to explore not one, but four of England and Wales most historic Counties.

Our location is also the reason that we have created our own “holiday planner” to help you make the most of your stay. It’s a guide based not on County borders, but on “Minutes from Aymestrey”.

Just click on a subject that interests you and we’ll show you how far you will travel from your luxury lodge to experience the best that the area has to offer.

We realise that for some guests the lure of our luxury lodges, the peaceful surroundings and heavenly hot tubs may mean that you won’t want to venture too far, so you will find most subjects contain at least one recommendation within a 15 -minute drive of Aymestrey Lodges.
